Research and Development Officer

About the role

The Research and Development (R&D) Officer will support product innovation, technology transfer, and cost monitoring for a food company. The role involves creating new product concepts, validating prototypes, and ensuring regulatory compliance across manufacturing and store environments.

Key responsibilities

• Support new product development from concept to prototype, including product replication, validation tests, and equipment compatibility assessments.
• Conduct product cook‑outs, sensory, nutritional, microbiological, and physicochemical testing to guarantee taste superiority and quality.
• Develop and maintain specifications for raw materials, packaging, and in‑store product standards.
• Assist in product certification, costing, and gross‑margin target achievement.
• Participate in market and competitor checks, propose sustainable raw‑material alternatives, and drive product improvement initiatives.
• Coordinate regulatory documentation, maintain formulation and process records, and manage revision histories.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Technology or a related field.
• At least 2 years of hands‑on R&D or Quality Assurance experience in a reputable food company.
• Basic knowledge of culinary concepts, ingredients, and taste profiling.
• Willingness to be assigned to the Ortigas area.
