Remote Residential Draftsman/Designer

About the role

Gill Construction is seeking a Remote Residential Draftsman/Designer to turn client visions into detailed, build‑ready designs. The role focuses on residential remodeling projects, delivering high‑quality 3D visualizations and construction documents from a home‑based office.

Key responsibilities

• Design kitchens, bathrooms, additions and whole‑home remodels.
• Produce floor plans, elevations and construction‑ready drawings.
• Create detailed 3D models and photorealistic renderings for client presentations.
• Assist with space planning, layout optimisation and material selection.
• Prepare professional design packages and presentations for client review.
• Collaborate with sales and production teams, revising designs based on feedback.
• Maintain organized project files and ensure a smooth hand‑off to construction.
• Track time and activity using Hubstaff.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of residential design, drafting or remodeling experience.
• Strong proficiency with 3D rendering and visualization tools such as D5 Render, Twinmotion, Enscape or Revit.
• Experience developing floor plans, elevations and construction‑ready drawings.
• Good understanding of residential construction methods and remodeling practices.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Highly organised, detail‑oriented and able to manage multiple projects independently.
• Reliable high‑speed internet and a dedicated remote workspace.

What we offer

• Hourly compensation of $10‑$15 USD, based on experience and portfolio quality.
