Remote Registered Nurse – Clinical Virtual Assistant

About the role

MEDVA is looking for a licensed Registered Nurse to join its virtual care team. You will provide clinical triage, patient education, and care coordination entirely from a remote setting, supporting U.S.-based healthcare providers.

Key responsibilities

• Triaging patient calls and messages, escalating urgent cases per protocol.
• Providing education on diagnoses, medications, procedures, and self‑management.
• Supporting chronic care management and remote patient monitoring programs, including scheduled check‑ins and documentation.
• Assisting with medication management, refill requests, and prior authorization reviews.
• Communicating test results, prescriptions, and treatment plans under provider direction.
• Conducting post‑discharge and post‑operative follow‑up calls to identify complications early.
• Documenting encounters accurately and maintaining audit‑ready medical records.
• Coordinating care across providers, specialists, and patients to close referral loops.
• Supporting administrative workflows such as scheduling, charting, and report generation while ensuring HIPAA compliance.

Required profile

• Active Registered Nurse license (clearly indicated on resume).
• Minimum of 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in a remote medical or telehealth nursing role.
• Familiarity with U.S. healthcare regulations, insurance workflows, and documentation standards.
• Strong nursing assessment, medical terminology, disease process, and pharmacology knowledge.
• Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work within provider direction and maintain clinical judgment.

Required skills

• Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
• Experience using healthcare technology platforms for virtual care.
