Remote Construction Estimator – Division 5 Metals & Steel

About the role

We are seeking a remote Construction Estimator specialized in Division 5 Metals & Steel to support a lean specialty steel fabrication company. The role focuses on commercial and industrial projects across the United States, working full‑time within Eastern Time business hours.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complete estimating workflows for Division 5 steel and metals projects.
• Conduct detailed quantity takeoffs from commercial and industrial plans, drawings, and specifications.
• Review and interpret construction documents to define project scope, quantities, exclusions, and risks.
• Calculate material, labor, fabrication, and steel installation costs and prepare competitive estimates.
• Support bid preparation, submission, and coordination with internal teams.
• Maintain organized estimating documentation and cost information.

Required profile

• 3+ years of dedicated construction estimating experience in Division 5 Metals & Steel.
• Strong background with commercial and industrial projects; residential experience does not qualify.
• Practical knowledge of steel installation and field assembly.
• Fluent English communication and ability to work full‑time 9:00 AM–5:00 PM EST.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Proficiency with Procore.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
