Remote BMS Estimator (Philippines)

About the role

Hunt St helps Australian companies hire remote talent in the Philippines. This is a remote BMS Estimator position for an experienced Building Management Systems and HVAC controls professional, paid $2,000-$2,500 AUD per month under an independent contractor agreement. The role works with Australian business hours (about 9 AM-5 PM, Monday to Friday) and is fully remote.

Key responsibilities

• Review mechanical, electrical and BMS drawings, specifications and equipment schedules, and interpret control strategies and sequences of operation.
• Develop BMS points schedules and controller selections, and estimate BMS network architecture including BACnet/IP and BACnet MS/TP.
• Identify requirements for sensors, actuators, valves, dampers, VSDs, meters and other field devices, and third-party interfaces such as BACnet and Modbus.
• Prepare detailed tender submissions covering materials, labour, engineering, commissioning and project management, and review supplier quotations.
• Identify scope gaps, risks, exclusions and assumptions, and prepare handover documentation for the Australian project team.

Required profile

• Proven experience in BMS estimating, BMS engineering, controls engineering or a closely related role.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, mechanical plant and building controls.
• Experience preparing detailed tenders, quotations or project estimates.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Australian-based estimating, engineering and project teams.

Required skills

• BMS architecture, controllers, I/O and networks.
• Working knowledge of BACnet, Modbus and third-party system integrations.
• Desirable: Reliable Controls, BidTracer or similar estimating software, and experience with Australian commercial building projects.
