Recruitment Consultant – Business Development (Australia)

About the role

Edward Jacobs, a leading recruitment firm specialising in accounting and finance, is seeking a Recruitment Consultant to drive growth and expand its client base across Australia. You will be responsible for developing business strategies, building new client relationships and nurturing existing ones to generate revenue and meet targets.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct telephone screening and assess candidate skills to create shortlists for client review.
• Guide and support candidates and clients throughout the hiring process.
• Prospect new clients via cold calling, email campaigns and referrals.
• Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals and negotiate contracts to win new business.
• Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing clients through business development and marketing activities.
• Perform reference checks on candidates.

Required profile

• 2–3 years of recruitment experience in agency or corporate environments.
• Comfortable with cold calling and headhunting in a competitive market.
• Excellent attention to detail, time‑management and organisational skills.
• Strong communication, presentation and negotiation abilities.
• Self‑motivated, target‑oriented and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Willingness to work within Australian business hours.

Required skills

• Proficiency with CRM systems and other business‑development tools.
