Real Estate Portfolio Controller

About the role

We are looking for a senior finance professional to act as the primary controller and outsourced CFO for a multi‑entity private‑equity real‑estate portfolio. The role combines full P&L responsibility, audit leadership and strategic finance advisory to drive value‑add decisions across the portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end monthly, quarterly and annual close processes for a complex multi‑entity structure.
• Prepare, review and sign off GAAP‑compliant financial statements, consolidations, cash‑flow statements and footnote disclosures.
• Lead audit readiness, serve as the main point of contact for auditors and ensure clean, defensible audit outcomes.
• Develop and maintain forecasts, budgets, liquidity plans and inter‑entity cash‑flow models.
• Provide strategic insights on capital activity, sourcing, uses and timing of capital movements.
• Apply deep knowledge of private‑equity real‑estate fund structures, development accounting and equity waterfall calculations.
• Coach junior team members and act as the internal escalation point before issues reach the client.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in private‑equity real‑estate finance, preferably as a controller or CFO.
• Proven track record of delivering audit‑ready, GAAP‑compliant financial statements.
• Strong judgment and ability to translate complex accounting topics into clear business recommendations.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders, auditors and investors.
