Purchasing Staff – Construction Materials

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Purchasing Staff member to manage the sourcing, evaluation, and procurement of construction materials, goods, and services. The role supports project schedules by ensuring timely, cost‑effective purchases while maintaining high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers of construction materials, goods, and services.
• Negotiate and secure cost‑effective contracts and deals with vendors.
• Place bulk orders and manage purchase orders in line with project timelines.
• Prepare cost‑analysis reports and purchasing summaries for management review.
• Verify product and material quality before approval and procurement.
• Schedule delivery requests to guarantee timely receipt of materials.
• Maintain accurate records of orders, payments, receipts, and supplier communications.
• Report and document any damaged or faulty purchases immediately.
• Coordinate with suppliers, logistics teams, and warehouse staff for smooth receipt and inventory.
• Maintain professional relationships with existing vendors and evaluate new suppliers.
• Support warehouse and site teams with any supply‑related issues.

Required profile

• 1‑3 years of experience in a similar purchasing or procurement role, preferably in construction.
• Familiarity with construction materials and supply‑chain requirements.
• Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
• Ability to analyze and compare costs, quality, and delivery terms.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and time‑management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and basic inventory/purchasing or ERP software.
