Pump Technician

About the role

The Pump Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and troubleshooting a variety of industrial pumps used in water treatment, wastewater management and related engineering sectors. The role ensures that pump systems operate efficiently, reliably and in compliance with safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect and maintain centrifugal, positive displacement and submersible pumps.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, perform repairs and replace worn components.
• Conduct routine maintenance such as lubrication, seal replacement and wear checks.
• Run performance tests, align and calibrate pumps and related components.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules and spare‑part inventory.
• Provide technical support to operators and assist in designing pump solutions for projects.
• Prepare client acceptance documents and service reports.

Required profile

• Vocational or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field; a degree is a plus.
• 1–2 years of experience in pump installation, maintenance or repair in an industrial environment.
• Attention to detail, strong safety awareness and ability to work both independently and within a team.

Required skills

• Pump installation, maintenance and repair.
• Experience with centrifugal, positive displacement and submersible pumps.
• Pump alignment, calibration and performance testing.
• Lubrication, seal replacement and wear inspection.
• Use of testing devices, wrenches and torque equipment.
• Basic understanding of electrical systems and pump motor controls.
• Fire pump and jockey pump operation.
