Pump Technician – Installation, Maintenance & Repair

About the role

The Pump Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of industrial pumps used in wastewater management, water treatment, and related engineering sectors. The role ensures pumps operate efficiently and reliably while adhering to safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Install, inspect, and maintain centrifugal, positive displacement, and submersible pumps.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues affecting pump performance.
• Perform routine maintenance such as lubrication, seal replacement, and wear checks.
• Conduct pump tests, alignment, calibration, and adjustments to verify efficiency.
• Maintain accurate records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and spare‑part inventories.
• Provide technical support to operators and assist in designing pump solutions for projects.
• Prepare client acceptance documents and service reports.

Required profile

• Vocational or technical certification in Mechanical Engineering or related field; a degree is a plus.
• 1–2 years of experience in pump installation, maintenance, or repair in an industrial setting.
• Familiarity with fire pump and jockey pump operation.
• Attention to detail, strong safety mindset, and ability to work independently or in a team.
• Willingness to travel to site locations as needed.

Required skills

• Centrifugal, positive displacement, and submersible pump knowledge.
• Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• Pump alignment, calibration, and testing.
• Use of wrenches, torque tools, and lubrication equipment.
• Basic understanding of pump motor controls.
