Project Inspector – Dredging Works

About the role

The Project Inspector will oversee and inspect dredging activities linked to dams, reservoirs, intake structures, and hydropower facilities. The role ensures that all works are carried out safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with specifications, environmental regulations, and contract requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor daily mechanical or hydraulic dredging operations and verify limits, depth, and alignment against approved drawings.
• Witness pre‑ and post‑dredging survey checks and validate bathymetric survey results.
• Ensure compliance with method statements, technical specifications, and environmental permits.
• Inspect sediment removal volumes, disposal area compliance, and turbidity/water‑quality controls.
• Maintain daily dredging logs, photographic records, and equipment productivity reports.
• Coordinate with survey teams, marine crews, Resident Engineer, and QA/QC teams.
• Support measurement, billing verification, and resolution of technical issues on site.
• Participate in coordination meetings and enforce marine and water safety practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s in Hydraulic/Water Resources preferred).
• 8–12 years of civil engineering experience, including at least 5 years on dam, reservoir, or hydropower projects.
• Proven experience in dredging operations such as reservoir desiltation, intake clearing, and river training works.
• Experience with quantity verification, contractor billing support, and environmental compliance.
• Familiarity with large‑scale infrastructure projects and FIDIC‑based contracts.
