Project Director – Offshore Wind Projects

About the role

The Project Director (PD) is accountable for the end‑to‑end delivery of offshore wind projects on behalf of Ming Yang. Reporting to senior leadership, the PD leads a multidisciplinary team covering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, logistics, offshore installation, commissioning and handover.

Key responsibilities

• Own the integrated project execution plan, baseline schedule, risk register and budget, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery from award to final acceptance (FAC).
• Manage change control, variations, claims and delay notifications while maintaining full P&L ownership.
• Serve as the primary executive interface with the Customer, leading milestone reviews, governance sessions and deliverable sign‑offs.
• Oversee engineering and technical activities from design freeze to type approval, ensuring IEC 61400 and DNV compliance.
• Champion a zero‑harm HSEQ culture, approve HSE plans, offshore risk assessments and quality management procedures.
• Direct strategic procurement, long‑lead item management, supplier performance and marine logistics for port operations and vessel scheduling.
• Build and lead the integrated OEM project team, define RACI, conduct appraisals and maintain succession plans.

Required profile

• 15+ years of experience in energy, offshore or heavy industry, with at least 7 years in senior project management of contracts ≥ EUR 300 M.
• Proven track record delivering full‑scope offshore wind turbine supply or EPC projects from FEED to FAC.
• Strong commercial acumen, including contract law, claims management and lender/insurance compliance.
• Experience with multi‑market delivery (Europe, APAC) and cross‑cultural leadership.
