Product Engineer – New Product Introduction

About the role

The Product Engineer will own the technical lifecycle of assigned products, guiding them from initial introduction through high‑volume manufacturing to end‑of‑life. Working on‑site in a clean‑room and office environment, you will collaborate with design, production, quality and supply‑chain teams to ensure reliable, cost‑effective production.

Key responsibilities

• Support new product introduction and transfer to high‑volume manufacturing.
• Provide technical ownership during manufacturing and qualification phases.
• Generate and release engineering documentation such as BOMs, drawings, specifications and work instructions.
• Drive product improvements for yield, reliability, cost and cycle‑time.
• Lead root‑cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions for product issues.
• Manage engineering change requests (ECR/ECO) and ensure proper implementation.
• Support customer technical inquiries, failure analysis and product qualification requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics or Chemistry (Master’s preferred).
• 3‑5 years of experience in product engineering, manufacturing or related roles within the semiconductor, electronics, opto‑electronics or fiber‑optics industry.
• Proven ability to work with cross‑functional teams and manage product lifecycle.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product lifecycle management.
• Ability to read and interpret product drawings and specifications.
• Experience with root‑cause analysis tools (5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA).
• Knowledge of statistical tools (SAS JMP, Minitab) and quality systems (ISO, Six Sigma, SPC).
• Experience in cost‑reduction activities and alternative material qualification.
• Basic knowledge of electrical circuit testing and reliability testing.
• Familiarity with engineering change review processes.
• Database knowledge and basic coding (optional).
