Process Engineer – FTA

About the role

Coherent Corp. is seeking a Process Engineer specialized in FTA to drive continuous improvement across yield, efficiency, and lean manufacturing. You will lead technology transfers, resolve line issues, and support top‑management priorities in a fast‑paced semiconductor and optoelectronics environment.

Key responsibilities

• Implement continuous process improvements to boost yield, OEE and lean flow.
• Execute product, equipment and technology transfers on schedule.
• Diagnose and resolve operational line issues to meet customer demand.
• Develop and maintain procedures, specifications and documentation for ongoing improvement.
• Lead training, certification and development programs for operators and technicians.
• Support top‑management initiatives and ad‑hoc tasks as required.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering (or Physics, Electrical or related fields).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in semiconductor, electronics, optoelectronics or fiber‑optics manufacturing.
• Proven ability to calculate and interpret yield, OEE, defect Pareto and SPC charts.
• Strong problem‑solving, root‑cause analysis and yield‑enhancement skills.

Required skills

• Laser module advanced packaging, vacuum soldering, wire bonding, fiber‑optics alignment.
• Lidding, temperature cycling, helium leak testing, fine/gross leak detection.
• Burn‑in and electro‑optical testing.
• PCP, PFMEA, SOP and work‑instruction development.
• Statistical analysis, SPC, variation study using JMP, Minitab and Excel.
• Process qualification, engineering change review, temporary deviations and related business processes.
