Preconstruction & Bid Manager – Commercial Construction

About the role

Prime Design+Build, a Southern California‑based general contractor, is looking for a highly organized and proactive Preconstruction & Bid Manager. The role will lead front‑end construction operations across multiple commercial projects, ensuring bids, subcontractor coordination, and procurement plans are executed efficiently before field work begins.

Key responsibilities

• Manage incoming bid opportunities from clients, developers, brokers, and public/private portals.
• Coordinate project intake, maintain bid calendars, and support bid/no‑bid evaluations with leadership.
• Organize bid documents, drawings, specifications, and distribute them to subcontractors.
• Lead subcontractor outreach, track bid coverage, and ensure timely proposal submissions.
• Assist with RFIs, clarifications, and bid communications.
• Support preconstruction planning for commercial tenant improvements and ground‑up projects.
• Review plans, specifications, and schedules for constructability and identify scope gaps.
• Collaborate closely with estimating, operations, and project management teams.
• Help prepare project budgets, scope alignment, and proposal packages.
