Power AIX Specialist

About the role

GlassHouse Systems (GHS) is seeking a Power AIX Specialist to lead and deliver managed remote infrastructure services for enterprise clients in Canada and the US. The role involves end‑to‑end technical support, virtualization management, and high‑availability solutions on IBM Power platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Support and manage AIX operating system, VIOS, LPARs, storage, file systems, and PowerHA/HACMP clusters.
• Administer IBM Power Systems hardware, HMC, and PowerVM virtualization.
• Perform LPAR migrations, capacity and performance monitoring, and vulnerability/patch management.
• Install and configure HMC, AIX, and Linux (RHEL, SLES) on IBM Power servers.
• Conduct technical presentations, demonstrations, and on‑call support during change windows.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional customer teams, including technical, sales, and project management staff.
• Contribute to process development, quality improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives.

Required profile

• University degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of relevant IT experience, including 10+ years of hands‑on IBM AIX administration.
• Proven experience with IBM PowerVM, LPAR/VIOS setup, and HMC management.
• Familiarity with IBM Power9/Power10 architecture and lifecycle management.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, and disaster‑recovery expertise.
