Postdoctoral Position in Statistics Education

About the role

The Department of Science Education at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Centre for University Science Education (NNF-USE) invites applications for a three‑year postdoctoral position focused on university statistics education research. The role starts on 1 January 2027 (or as soon as possible) and is part of the Toolbox Courses in Data Science project.

Key responsibilities

• Design and experiment with didactical activities that link statistical methods to authentic scientific questions in fields such as nanoscience or machine learning.
• Collect, analyse and interpret data arising from these educational experiments.
• Publish research findings in high‑quality international journals.
• Contribute actively to the local research environment and collaborative project activities.
• Allocate approximately 20 % of time to teaching and dissemination within the Department of Science Education.

Required profile

• PhD in statistics, mathematics education, science education or a closely related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in statistics or data‑science education research.
• Ability to work collaboratively with researchers at the University of Copenhagen, University of Aarhus and other partner institutions.
• Willingness to spend significant time at partner universities as required by the project.
