Operations Supervisor

About the role

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily warehouse activities, ensuring safety, quality and efficient resource planning. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role coordinates a team of coordinators and staff to meet DHL and customer standards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain safety and security standards, ensure staff are qualified, equipped with PPE, and report incidents, near‑misses and hazards.
• Enforce warehouse quality standards, 5S practices, and manage CAPA processes for non‑conformities.
• Plan and update daily resource allocation, conduct shift handovers and communicate priorities.
• Track performance metrics such as picking, sorting, dispatching, transporter productivity and accuracy; analyse trends and propose improvements.
• Conduct tactical performance reviews with coordinators and ensure individual employee reviews are completed.
• Participate in internal, customer and regulatory audits and implement agreed action plans.

Required profile

• Proven experience in warehouse or logistics operations, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Strong understanding of safety, security and quality management systems.
• Ability to lead, coach and develop a diverse team.
• Excellent communication skills for reporting to management and interacting with customers.
• Attention to detail and capability to analyse operational data.
