About the role

The School of Information Science and Learning Technologies (SISLT) at the University of Missouri seeks an energetic, highly motivated scholar for an open‑rank, tenure‑track faculty position. The successful candidate will contribute to research, teaching, and service across MLIS, PhD, certificate, and emerging undergraduate programs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver courses in library and information sciences, digital humanities, and information visualization.
• Advance the school’s research agenda through grant acquisition and scholarly publications.
• Mentor graduate and undergraduate students, and supervise research projects.
• Participate in departmental service, curriculum development, and community outreach.

Required profile

• Ph.D. in Library and Information Science, Information Studies, Digital Humanities, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated potential for high‑impact grant funding and peer‑reviewed publications.
• Strong commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and inclusive teaching.

Required skills

• Expertise in digital humanities methodologies.
• Knowledge of information and document management practices.
• Proficiency in information visualization techniques.
