Mid-Level Cyber Security Analyst

About the role

The Mid-Level Cyber Security Analyst strengthens the integrity of our internal and cloud networks by conducting deep‑dive analysis of security data, spotting operational trends, and leading initial incident containment efforts.

Key responsibilities

• Investigate security alerts escalated by SOC Level 1 analysts across SIEM, EDR, network, identity, cloud, and email platforms.
• Validate events as false positives, policy violations, or confirmed incidents and correlate logs to uncover attack patterns, lateral movement, and compromised assets.
• Determine scope, severity, business impact, and urgency of incidents and recommend containment, eradication, and remediation actions.
• Maintain accurate incident timelines, investigation notes, evidence records, and escalation summaries.
• Support phishing investigations, endpoint compromise analysis, suspicious login reviews, malware alerts, brute‑force attacks, data exfiltration indicators, and cloud security events.
• Review and improve SOC playbooks, investigation procedures, and escalation criteria; coach SOC Level 1 analysts.
• Identify recurring false positives and suggest tuning improvements for detection platforms.
• Participate in post‑incident reviews and document open incidents for shift handovers.

Required profile

• 2‑4 years of experience in SOC operations, incident response, or related security monitoring roles.
• Previous experience as a SOC Level 1 analyst or equivalent.
• Proven ability to investigate real security alerts and document findings.
• English proficiency at C1 level.
• Relevant certifications such as CompTIA CySA+, Microsoft AZ‑500, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, Fortinet FCP/NSE are a plus.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience with SIEM and EDR tools.
• Analysis of identity logs, firewall logs, email security alerts, and endpoint events.
• Knowledge of network security, cloud security, phishing investigation, and malware analysis.
