Medical Director – Endocrinology/Internal Medicine (Remote)

About the role

ICON plc is seeking a Medical Director to lead endocrinology and internal medicine medical affairs for remote projects based in the Philippines. The role will provide strategic medical leadership, scientific guidance and ensure compliance across the project lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic medical leadership and guidance on project teams.
• Offer expert medical and scientific consultation throughout project lifecycles.
• Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in medical and safety monitoring activities.
• Represent the Medical Affairs Department in business development initiatives.
• Provide operational oversight within the Medical Affairs Department as needed.

Required profile

• Significant medical affairs experience with a track record of building high‑performing teams.
• Medical degree (MD or equivalent); specialization in endocrinology or internal medicine preferred.
• Proven medical leadership and consultation experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industries.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and ethical standards in clinical research.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to provide operational management in the absence of senior management.
• Willingness to travel approximately 10% as required.
