Mechanical Design Engineer (Pipeline)

About the role

Arcadis is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join its Global Excellence Centre. The role focuses on pipeline and building systems design, supporting sustainable and efficient solutions for clients worldwide.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed designs for HVAC, hydronics, compressed air, controls and building automation systems.
• Perform load calculations, pressure‑drop analyses and energy modelling to ensure efficiency and compliance.
• Produce 2D and 3D drawings, schematics, equipment sections, elevations and connection details using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Ensure designs meet local codes, sustainability targets and safety standards.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and adhere to project budgets and schedules.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations for senior engineers.
• Follow Arcadis design standards and procedures throughout the project lifecycle.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum five years of experience in mechanical design for process equipment or building systems.
• Proficiency in English (medium level) and a willingness to learn new tools.
• Knowledge of ASME standards is preferred.
• Strong problem‑solving, analytical and communication skills.
