Architect I – Education

About the role

Arcadis is seeking an Architect I to support education‑focused projects. The role involves managing technical aspects of medium‑size tasks, coordinating design teams, and ensuring delivery aligns with Arcadis standards for quality, safety, and sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage technical delivery of larger or complex project components, meeting financial, quality, timeframe and health‑and‑safety objectives.
• Coordinate and allocate work for single‑discipline designers and technicians.
• Review and quality‑assure the work of other staff before delivery.
• Develop and propose solutions that exceed client expectations and guide the team through creative decision‑making.
• Oversee scope of work, monitor operational workload, and ensure resources are fully utilized.
• Collaborate with other disciplines to resolve complex technical issues and maintain design integrity.
• Lead performance management of team members, identify issues, and support professional development.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
• Develop and review budgets for GEC scope elements.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of sustainable development best practices and Safety in Design processes.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of sustainable development principles and industry best practices.
• Knowledge of key architectural principles across one or more sectors.
• Experience with Safety in Design, including Designer Hazard Logs.
• Ability to work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and communicate progress effectively.
