Mechanical Design Engineer

About the role

The Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the creation of mechanical designs, specifications, and cost estimates for retail and commercial projects. You will work closely with mall engineering teams, vendors, and construction crews to ensure designs meet standards and project timelines.

Key responsibilities

• Gather data from site inspections, coordination meetings, and leasing kits to develop mechanical designs covering HVAC, fire protection, pumps, and generating sets.
• Prepare detailed specifications, scopes of work, equipment schedules, and timetables.
• Produce bill of materials, labor cost estimates, and overall project cost estimates.
• Draft mechanical plans in compliance with mall construction guidelines and government standards.
• Manage construction plans, monitor budget variance, and supervise on‑site implementation.
• Assist with repair and maintenance tasks as needed.

Required profile

• Graduate in Mechanical Engineering, preferably licensed.
• Minimum five years of experience in design, development, and supervision of interior and fixture projects for retail commercial establishments.
• Physically fit to work both in an office and on construction sites.
• Strong analytical abilities and effective communication skills.
