Lineman – Solar Farm Installation & Maintenance

About the role

The Lineman will install, operate, and maintain overhead and underground electrical distribution lines for a solar farm in Makati. The role ensures safe and efficient connectivity between solar arrays, substations, and the grid. It requires strong technical ability and strict adherence to safety standards while working outdoors.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair, and maintain overhead and underground distribution lines within the solar farm.
• Perform stringing, tensioning, splicing, terminating, and other line‑construction activities.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of transformers, switchgear, disconnects, and related electrical equipment.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify faults, damages, or potential issues.
• Operate line‑work equipment such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and hot sticks.
• Support testing and commissioning activities as needed.
• Coordinate with engineers, electricians, and construction teams to keep the project on schedule.
• Follow all health, safety, and environmental policies, including proper PPE use.

Required profile

• Vocational or technical certificate in Electrical Technology, Power Line Installation, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Lineman in electrical distribution, transmission, or renewable‑energy projects.
• Knowledge of NEC, local electrical codes, and utility standards.
• Physically fit and capable of working at heights, in confined spaces, and under various weather conditions.
• Willingness to work overtime, shifting schedules, and remote project locations.

Required skills

• Installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines.
• Stringing, tensioning, splicing, and terminating of power lines.
• Operation of bucket trucks, digger derricks, cranes, and hot sticks.
• Reading and interpreting electrical drawings, schematics, and line maps.
• Working with medium‑voltage (13.8 kV, 34.5 kV) distribution systems.
• Grounding systems, cable‑tray installation, and MV terminations.
