Lien Negotiator for Personal Injury Law Firm

About the role

The Lien Negotiator will support a personal injury law firm by managing and negotiating medical and insurance liens on settled or pending cases. Working remotely, you will collaborate closely with attorneys and legal staff to ensure timely lien resolution while protecting client interests.

Key responsibilities

• Review case files and lien documentation to verify balances and terms.
• Analyze medical bills, insurance statements, and legal documents to identify reduction opportunities.
• Develop and execute negotiation strategies in line with firm policies.
• Communicate with medical providers, insurers, and third‑party lien holders via phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Document all negotiations and agreements in the firm’s case management system.
• Coordinate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to provide accurate case updates.
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and confidentiality standards.

Required profile

• Experience in lien negotiation, collections, billing, or related financial/legal support, preferably in personal injury or healthcare.
• Strong analytical and research abilities for reviewing complex billing and insurance data.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for professional negotiations.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
• Ability to manage multiple cases, prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while working independently.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in Legal Studies, Business, Finance or related field preferred, but not mandatory.

Required skills

• Proficiency with case management software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel or equivalent spreadsheet applications.
• Competence with standard office productivity tools (e.g., Word, Outlook).
