Legal Services Department Head

About the role

The Legal Services Department Head leads the company’s legal function, shaping strategy, ensuring compliance and governance across all operations. This senior position reports directly to senior management and requires a proactive approach to risk mitigation and legal representation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the Legal Department, set strategic direction and ensure full compliance with mining legislation and industry regulations.
• Oversee litigation, arbitration, permits, and dispute resolution activities.
• Mitigate operational, regulatory, and contractual risks.
• Provide strategic legal counsel to senior management.
• Represent the company in hearings, regulatory proceedings and coordinate with external counsel and government agencies.
• Perform notarial duties when possible.
• Stay updated on current mining legislation and legal developments in the industry.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) and a member of the Philippine Bar in good standing.
• Minimum of five (5) years’ experience as a litigation lawyer, preferably with supervisory experience in a corporate environment.
• Proven ability to mentor and lead teams with a strategic and progressive approach to litigation and labor practice.
• Strong background in handling complex disputes and labor cases.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Lepanto Mine Division, Mankayan, Benguet.
