Legal Counsel – Remote (Philippines)

About the role

LDU Asia, a Singapore‑based commercial legal consultancy, is seeking a Legal Counsel based in the Philippines to work remotely with the CEO. The role provides hands‑on, generalist legal support for client mandates across Singapore and APAC, as well as internal corporate matters.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts such as SaaS, services, partnership, employment and vendor agreements for LDU’s clients.
• Support corporate advisory work including governance, shareholder matters and corporate structuring, coordinating with external counsel as needed.
• Assist with client intake, scope definition and translation of client requirements into clear commercial terms.
• Manage LDU’s internal corporate, compliance and contractual matters and coordinate with external law firms and secretarial providers.
• Identify and flag legal, regulatory and commercial risks, providing pragmatic solutions.
• Support the CEO on client calls, negotiations and strategic discussions.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years post‑qualification experience, preferably a mix of law‑firm and in‑house or startup exposure.
• Qualified to practice law in the Philippines (Philippine Bar).
• Strong commercial contract drafting and negotiation abilities.
• Comfortable working directly with founders and startup clients in a fast‑moving environment.
• Ability to work independently in a fully remote, small team with minimal supervision.
• Clear and direct written and verbal communication skills.
