Legal and Compliance Manager

About the role

The Legal and Compliance Manager will lead the company’s legal and compliance programmes, ensuring that all business activities adhere to Philippine laws, regulations, and internal policies. This role provides strategic legal advice to senior management and supports risk‑mitigation across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, maintain and enforce legal and compliance policies, procedures and programmes.
• Provide legal counsel to management and various departments on contracts, agreements and regulatory matters.
• Monitor compliance with Philippine statutes, permits, and government requirements.
• Draft, review and negotiate contracts, policies and other legal documents.
• Manage legal disputes, claims and coordinate with external counsel.
• Conduct compliance assessments, audits and investigations.
• Identify legal and compliance risks and recommend controls.
• Oversee implementation of Code of Conduct, Ethics, Anti‑Bribery and related policies.
• Coordinate with government agencies, regulators and external counsel as needed.
• Deliver compliance training and awareness programmes for employees.
• Maintain accurate documentation and reporting of legal and compliance matters.
• Support internal, customer and external audits related to legal compliance.
• Collaborate with regional and global legal teams on company initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Legal Management, Business Administration or related field.
• Bar passer or licensed lawyer highly preferred.
• 5–8 years of experience in legal, compliance, corporate governance or related areas.
• Experience in manufacturing, automotive or multinational environments is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of Philippine laws, regulations, contracts and labor matters.
• Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, investigations, audits and policy development.
• Excellent analytical, negotiation and decision‑making abilities.
• High integrity, confidentiality and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills and ability to work with management, employees, regulators and global teams.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
