About the role

The Information School at the University of Sheffield is recruiting a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Data Science to strengthen its research and teaching portfolio. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting‑edge data science projects and deliver high‑quality undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

Key responsibilities

Develop and lead research programmes in data science, with an emphasis on responsible AI.
Design, deliver and assess teaching modules for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
Foster interdisciplinary collaborations across the university and external partners.
Integrate fairness, accountability, transparency, ethics, safety and security (FATES) principles into research and curriculum.

Required profile

PhD (or equivalent) in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
Developing research record for Lecturer level or an established record for Senior Lecturer level.
Demonstrated teaching experience at higher education level.
Strong commitment to interdisciplinary work and responsible data/AI practices.
