Junior Systems Administrator & Voice Engineer

About the role

GrayMatter Networks is looking for a Junior Systems Administrator & Voice Engineer to support and maintain hospitality VoIP and infrastructure systems for its customers. The role is remote‑focused, requiring quick problem‑solving and collaboration with hotel IT teams and internal staff.

Key responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, and maintain VoIP and PBX solutions (FreePBX) in hotel environments.
• Monitor voice services, alarms, system health and network performance.
• Perform routine OS updates, patches, and system checks on Linux‑based platforms.
• Troubleshoot SIP, VoIP, networking and infrastructure issues using logs, packet captures and monitoring tools.
• Support internal Tier 1/2 teams and assist customers with escalated technical problems.
• Document deployments, configurations and troubleshooting procedures; contribute to a Wiki knowledge base.
• Communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.

Required profile

• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Detail‑oriented and comfortable working in a fast‑paced remote support environment.
• Ability to explain technical concepts concisely and professionally.
