Java Software Developer

About the role

The Java Software Developer will design, develop, deploy, and maintain applications that support travel services and business operations for American Express Global Business Travel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform complex programming tasks to modernize legacy systems into a Java environment and ensure cybersecurity compliance.
• Migrate legacy applications to updated platforms, aligning with industry guidelines and improving system uptime.
• Diagnose, isolate, and resolve software issues, monitor system capacity, and maintain connectivity to vendor APIs.
• Create software documentation, architecture diagrams, and adhere to development standards and security requirements.
• Provide technical support for applications using Java, C#, jQuery, AJAX, React, and SQL Server, and implement disaster recovery procedures.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with Java frameworks and 2+ years with jQuery, AJAX, and React.
• Experience with SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, PostgreSQL, and REST/SOAP APIs.

Required skills

• Java, C#, jQuery, AJAX, React.js, Visual Studio 2019/2022.
• SQL Server, Oracle PL/SQL, PostgreSQL.
• REST and SOAP APIs, GitHub Copilot, Claude Code.
• GIT source control, Postman or SOAP UI for API testing.
