IT Specialist – Store Operations

About the role

The IT Specialist will ensure the smooth operation of all IT systems within the IKEA store, delivering high availability, performance and security. You will act as the primary point of contact for store users, handling support incidents, service requests and contributing to IT projects.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day IT operations and support activities, maintaining system uptime and security.
• Investigate, troubleshoot and resolve user incidents, providing clear communication and documentation.
• Execute IT support in line with company policies, standards and SOPs.
• Assist with IT audit, compliance and security assessments.
• Support local store IT projects, ensuring scope, schedule and budget adherence.
• Collaborate with super users on testing, training, implementation and upgrades of store IT systems.
• Coordinate security patches and anti‑virus updates with central IT.
• Maintain accurate inventory of hardware, software licences and support contracts.
• Verify hardware, software and licence compliance using Service Desk and SCCM tools.
• Work with authorised vendors for rebuilds, relocations or repairs.
• Assist in IT budget preparation and contract renewals.
• Manage system and data backup and recovery procedures.
• Provide standby support during weekends or after‑hours as required.

Required profile

• Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT support role, preferably in retail.
• Proven ability to support super users, conduct system testing and handle incident management.
• Experience with Microsoft Navision, LS Retail, POS, CRM and SQL databases.
