Human Resources Generalist

About the role

The Human Resources Generalist will support the organization by ensuring compliance with training requirements, managing recruitment processes, and administering core HR programs. This role balances operational tasks with strategic initiatives to foster a positive workplace culture.

Key responsibilities

• Track and document compliance with mandatory and non‑mandatory training, including safety, anti‑harassment, licensure, and certifications.
• Recruit, interview, and facilitate hiring of qualified candidates in partnership with department managers.
• Conduct background checks and verify employee eligibility.
• Implement new‑hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
• Administer compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary actions, investigations, performance management, and occupational health and safety programs.
• Respond to employment‑related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, escalating complex matters as needed.
• Participate in disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and update policies accordingly.

Required profile

• Degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Sociology, Organizational Development, or Industrial/Organizational Psychology.
• At least 2 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in multiple HR functions.
• Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict‑resolution abilities.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, delegate when appropriate, and act with integrity and confidentiality.
• Thorough knowledge of employment‑related laws and regulations.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software.
