GIS Developer Software Engineer

About the role

MicroSourcing is looking for a GIS Developer Software Engineer to design, build, and maintain geospatial solutions that support the planning, engineering, and construction of outside‑plant (OSP) fiber‑optic telecom projects. You will work remotely with a night‑shift schedule, collaborating closely with fiber network engineers and planners.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and manage GIS applications for OSP fiber network design and construction planning.
• Create custom geoprocessing tools and automate workflows using Python (ArcPy, Pandas, NumPy).
• Build interactive web‑based mapping applications with ArcGIS API for JavaScript, Leaflet, or OpenLayers.
• Integrate GIS data with CAD drawings (AutoCAD, MicroStation) to streamline network planning.
• Perform spatial analysis for route optimization, cost estimation, and permitting.
• Administer ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, and Portal for ArcGIS environments.
• Develop REST APIs and manage SQL‑based geodatabases for data integration.
• Implement Esri Utility Network for telecom asset management and ensure compliance with industry standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of GIS development experience, preferably in telecom or construction.
• Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and ArcGIS Enterprise.
• Proficiency in Python scripting for GIS automation.
