General Ledger Accountant (US Eastern Time)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced General Ledger Accountant to join our boutique accounting firm. The role works closely with our U.S.-based team, so you must be able to operate during U.S. Eastern Time hours and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Perform day‑to‑day general ledger accounting activities, including preparing and posting journal entries, accruals, adjustments, and reclassifications.
• Conduct balance‑sheet and account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and support month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
• Review financial information to identify errors, inconsistencies, or unusual transactions and work with internal teams to resolve issues.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and documentation in line with internal policies and applicable accounting principles.
• Assist with financial reporting, identify process improvements, and handle ad‑hoc GL‑related requests.

Required profile

• 4–10 years of professional experience in general ledger or general accounting.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, GL processes, and month‑end close procedures.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and maintain high attention to detail.
• Availability to work U.S. Eastern Time (ET) hours.
