Full-Stack AI Automation Engineer

About the role

A US-based AI consulting and software implementation company is looking for a Full-Stack AI Automation Engineer to build AI systems that automate business workflows and deliver custom software. The position is 100% remote, paid $2,500-$3,000 per month, and reports to the 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM Los Angeles time zone. It is a full-time independent contractor (direct hire).

Key responsibilities

• Turn client requirements and Statements of Work into practical AI and software solutions.
• Analyse business problems and choose the best technical approach independently.
• Build working prototypes and foundational solutions for productionisation by the client's senior technology partner.
• Develop AI-powered workflows that automate repetitive processes.
• Integrate software, platforms, databases and APIs, including systems with limited or no APIs.
• Work across front-end, back-end, databases and dashboards as needed.
• Use AI tools and LLMs such as ChatGPT and Claude, and automation platforms such as Zapier, n8n, MCP and browser automation.
• Research new technologies, test solutions, document workflows and decisions, and build reusable solutions.
• Collaborate with the consulting team and the client's senior technology partner, and stay responsive to changing requirements.

Required profile

• At least 5 years of full-stack software engineering experience, preferably with AI-powered applications, automations or workflows.
• Experience building AI automation solutions for businesses or professional services firms.
• Ability to take a business requirement and decide what needs to be built without step-by-step technical instructions.
• Excellent written and spoken English and strong communication with US-based stakeholders.
• Comfortable working independently and adapting to different client systems; a practical technical test is part of the hiring process.
