Financial, Governance and Compliance Audit Specialist

About the role

The Financial, Governance and Compliance Audit Specialist supports the execution of the business process and operations audit program. You will plan, conduct fieldwork, and report audits in line with internal audit standards, providing data‑driven insights to improve controls, risk management, and operational performance.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to annual audit planning and schedule business process audits.
• Create detailed audit work programs with defined scope, goals, and timelines.
• Perform walkthroughs, interviews, and risk assessments to identify key controls and gaps.
• Execute audits according to approved work programs, test controls, and evaluate compliance.
• Draft audit findings, briefs, and observation sheets; present results to management.
• Monitor client responses, verify corrective‑action implementation, and report progress to the Audit Committee.
• Participate in special projects and advisory engagements to recommend operational improvements.
• Validate completion and effectiveness of audit recommendations and update issue‑tracking systems.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy.
• Preferably a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• At least 4 years of experience in internal audit, external audit, accounting, or business process review, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory or project‑management role.
• Willingness to conduct fieldwork and be assigned to Cebu.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Internal Audit Standards (IIA) and risk‑based audit approaches.
• Experience in audit planning, fieldwork execution, reporting, and issue follow‑up.
• Understanding of internal controls, risk‑management frameworks, and governance practices.
• Data analysis skills for audit purposes.
• Excellent analytical, documentation, and report‑writing abilities.
