Financial Control & Compliance Director (Retail/FMCG)

About the role

The Financial Control & Compliance Director will lead the finance function for a retail/FMCG organization, ensuring robust financial controls, compliance, and governance across all operations. This senior position reports to senior leadership and works closely with internal and external auditors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead financial control, governance, and compliance initiatives.
• Oversee accounting operations, financial reporting, and audit coordination.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Manage risk assessment, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with internal and external auditors on audit and compliance requirements.
• Drive standardization and optimization of finance processes and controls.
• Support tax planning, compliance, and regulatory reporting activities.
• Review operational and financial risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Lead finance systems and process enhancement projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA certification required or preferred.
• 10+ years of experience in controllership, audit, compliance, or finance operations.
• Experience in retail, FMCG, consumer, or multinational environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of financial controls, audit, and accounting standards.
• Proven ability to manage large‑scale finance operations and compliance initiatives.
• Excellent analytical, leadership, and stakeholder management capabilities.
