Financial Control Analyst

About the role

The Financial Control Analyst will join the Markets and Treasury Financial Control (MTFC) team at ANZ, supporting the delivery of accurate financial reporting and analysis for the Markets and Treasury divisions. The role ensures the business meets statutory and regulatory reporting obligations while maintaining the integrity of financial data.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain a robust control environment for Markets and Treasury financial reporting.
• Produce timely and accurate financial reports and analysis.
• Manage month‑end close activities, including accounting, P&L and Balance Sheet analysis and reconciliations.
• Review new trades, explain P&L attribution and perform price testing of trader‑marked inputs.
• Apply valuation adjustments, conduct analytical reviews and review regulatory data.
• Perform performance attribution and manage FX/cash exposures.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory reporting obligations are met across business units.
• Address business queries, resolve issues and support business requirements.

Required profile

• Knowledge of markets and/or treasury products, preferably from experience in Markets Finance (Product Control, Financial Control).
• Understanding of financial instruments accounting standards.
• Experience with automation tools is highly desirable.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to write Excel macros.
• Proficiency with automation tools.
