External Auditor – Audit & Risk Advisory

About the role

We are seeking an External Auditor to join our leading audit and risk advisory team. You will work on complex client engagements covering governance, risk, compliance, operational reviews and control assessments, applying your Big 4 or consulting experience to strengthen performance and accountability.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal audit, risk and compliance engagements in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
• Engage with stakeholders at various levels to support audit and advisory activities.
• Perform technical and operational reviews across processes with differing risk profiles.
• Prepare and maintain audit documentation and electronic working papers.
• Summarize key findings, identify risks and control gaps, and draft practical recommendations.
• Support the development of audit reports and escalate ethical concerns as required.
• Utilise audit tools and methodologies to deliver engagements on schedule.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Auditing, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 3‑5 years of audit experience in a Big 4 firm or professional services environment, preferably serving Australian clients.
• Strong knowledge of Australian auditing standards, regulatory requirements and ISO 31000 risk‑management framework.
• Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deliver audit services across diverse industries.
• Excellent analytical, report‑writing and stakeholder‑management skills.
