ESD Technician – Semiconductor Calibration

About the role

The ESD Technician will ensure that all electrostatic discharge (ESD) control equipment used in our semiconductor fab is calibrated, functional, and compliant with industry standards. You will work in a cleanroom environment, supporting production, quality, and engineering teams.

Key responsibilities

• Perform calibration and functional testing of wrist straps, foot straps, ESD mats, ionizers, monitors and other ESD devices.
• Maintain precision measuring instruments with traceability to NIST or equivalent standards.
• Conduct routine inspections and audits of ESD protected areas (EPAs) to verify compliance with ANSI/ESD S20.20, SEMI standards and cleanroom protocols.
• Document calibration data accurately and update the calibration database in accordance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers, quality and production teams to troubleshoot ESD‑related issues.
• Support and deliver ESD awareness training for fab personnel.

Required profile

• BS in Engineering (Electronics, Mechanical) or equivalent technical certification.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in calibration and ESD control within a semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of ANSI/ESD S20.20, SEMI standards and cleanroom practices.
• Experience with calibration software and regulated documentation (ISO 9001).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in cross‑functional teams.
