Equipment Engineer (Semiconductor/Optoelectronics)

About the role

The Equipment Engineer will design, set‑up and maintain assembly and test stations for semiconductor and optoelectronics production. Working closely with product and process engineers, you will create user‑friendly workstations that integrate machines, jigs, fixtures and software to automate the entire workflow.

Key responsibilities

• Configure and commission assembly and test stations, including hardware, software interfaces and automation tools.
• Select, purchase and qualify new equipment, ensuring alignment with product and process requirements.
• Design, install and test equipment upgrades to improve uptime, yield, cycle time and throughput.
• Write operating instructions, maintenance manuals and oversee scheduled maintenance activities.
• Conduct equipment FMEA studies and maintain out‑of‑control action plans.
• Support new equipment installation and vendor qualification for new parts.
• Report equipment uptime, maintenance effectiveness and cost metrics.
• Develop automated assembly and test solutions, including GUI design, data acquisition and report generation.
• Lead training for engineers, technicians and operators on new equipment and automation processes.

Required profile

• B.Sc. in Electronics Engineering or related field; postgraduate studies are a plus.
• Minimum 5 years experience in semiconductor, electronics, optoelectronics or fiber‑optics manufacturing.
• Proven knowledge of electrical/electronics manufacturing and factory automation.
• Experience working in cleanroom environments and with laser/optical measurement equipment.
