Director, Risk Strategy (Fraud & AML – Fiat & Crypto)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Risk Strategy Leader to design and execute an end‑to‑end risk control framework that spans fiat and crypto ecosystems. The role owns fraud prevention, AML strategy, and fund‑flow risk management, guiding decisions from onboarding to on‑chain transactions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and drive the overall fraud prevention and AML strategy across fiat and crypto channels.
• Design risk strategies for onboarding, login, deposits/withdrawals, trading, and crypto transfers.
• Monitor and assess fiat on‑ramp/off‑ramp flows, establishing review, approval, and escalation mechanisms for high‑risk transactions.
• Analyze end‑to‑end fund flows, identify suspicious patterns, and make account‑level risk decisions.
• Leverage Elliptic (and evaluate Chainalysis, TRM) to enhance on‑chain monitoring and integrate signals into automated decision‑making.
• Lead the development of scalable risk infrastructure, including rule engines, decision engines, and case‑management systems.
• Implement data‑driven optimization, track key metrics, and run testing frameworks such as A/B testing and rule tuning.
• Build and lead cross‑regional risk strategy, fraud operations, and AML teams.

Required profile

• Senior‑level professional with extensive experience in fraud prevention, AML, and fund‑flow risk management.
• Proven ability to design and operationalise risk frameworks for both fiat and crypto environments.
• Strong leadership skills with experience managing multi‑disciplinary, cross‑regional teams.
• Excellent analytical mindset and ability to translate complex data into actionable risk decisions.
