Director of Marketing Communications

About the role

Shangri-La Mactan, Cebu is seeking a seasoned Director of Marketing Communications to lead the development and execution of a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the resort’s luxury brand and business objectives. Reporting to senior leadership, you will work closely with sales, regional, and global marketing teams to ensure brand consistency and drive guest engagement.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a full‑year communications strategy and integrated direct‑to‑consumer marketing plan aligned with the hotel’s business plan.
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing, Regional Marketing, Digital Marketing, HQ Brands, and Loyalty teams to ensure regional and global brand alignment.
• Create and manage brand‑related collateral across website, social media, and other platforms.
• Coordinate content scheduling with the Commercial Marketing team.
• Develop and oversee a content partnership programme to raise awareness of hotel products and services.
• Establish a KPI framework to monitor and optimise partnership content performance.
• Build and maintain media relations with journalists, influencers, and community leaders in key source markets.
• Identify innovative PR opportunities and secure high‑profile media interviews for senior spokespeople.
• Write and distribute press releases announcing new products, services, and management appointments.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of marketing experience, preferably within the luxury hospitality sector.
• Proven relationships with local media, influencers, and lifestyle vloggers.
• Demonstrated ability to conceive and execute integrated marketing communications plans from inception.
• Excellent English writing and speaking skills, with expertise in lifestyle copywriting and proofreading.
• Strong project, organization, and time‑management capabilities.
• Leadership qualities, team‑player mindset, and a results‑driven attitude.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, cross‑functional environment while delivering high‑quality work.
