Desktop Technician III – Advanced Desktop Support

About the role

The Desktop Technician III provides advanced desktop support to end‑users, handling complex hardware and software issues with minimal supervision. This role ensures reliable, high‑quality service across the enterprise environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver technical support to end‑users and resolve complex desktop problems independently.
• Perform hardware and software installations, upgrades, and routine system maintenance including patching.
• Configure and deploy images using tools such as SCCM or MDT and manage endpoint settings.
• Set up new workstations, peripherals and ensure proper documentation of all incidents.
• Assist less‑experienced staff informally and collaborate with IT peers on advanced issues.
• Identify recurring patterns, propose efficiency improvements and minimize escalations.

Required profile

• High school diploma required; associate degree or certifications (A+, MD‑100/101) preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 10 lb, maintain visual acuity for screen work, and remain seated or standing for extended periods.
• Consistent attendance and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.

Required skills

• Advanced troubleshooting in enterprise desktop environments.
• Experience with imaging and endpoint configuration tools such as SCCM and MDT.
• Strong knowledge of Active Directory and Windows operating system management.
• Hardware and software installation, upgrade and patch management.
• Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerShell) is a plus.
