Design Engineer I

About the role

UCT is seeking a Design Engineer I to develop thermal solutions for heating and temperature‑sensing applications in semiconductor capital equipment. The role involves creating designs for gas and liquid delivery systems, collaborating with internal teams, and supporting customers throughout the product development lifecycle.

Key responsibilities

• Design thermal solutions for heating and temperature‑sensing applications using CAD software.
• Analyze customer proposals, specifications, and manuals to assess design feasibility.
• Collaborate with UCT account managers, operations staff, and thermal manufacturing to meet design requirements.
• Assist in fabrication, testing, and installation to ensure compliance with engineering and customer specifications.
• Participate in design review meetings and follow the NPI process via MS Teams.
• Present designs to sales/operations staff and, when required, to customers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of design experience in semiconductor capital equipment, heating, or related industries.
• Hands‑on experience with prototyping and thermal/electrical design.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Customer‑service orientation and ability to work with cross‑functional teams.
