Data Engineer

About the role

We are looking for a hands‑on Data Engineer to strengthen our data infrastructure. You will build and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks and temporarily support our business intelligence platform, ensuring data quality and reliability for Australian and Canadian clients.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines using Databricks.
• Contribute to data lake and data warehouse architecture and data modelling.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and logging for pipeline reliability.
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews and documentation.
• Maintain and support dashboards and reports in ThoughtSpot or similar BI tools.
• Assist stakeholders with ad‑hoc queries and visualisations during analyst leave.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years experience as a Data Engineer, preferably serving Australian clients.
• Strong background in building ETL/ELT pipelines on Databricks or comparable platforms.
• Proficient in Python and SQL for data processing.
• Solid understanding of data modelling and warehousing concepts.
• Experience with BI tools such as ThoughtSpot, Power BI, Tableau or Looker.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with technical and non‑technical teams.
