Cybersecurity Engineer Tier 1

About the role

As a Tier 1 Security Engineer at REST Solution, you will support the security posture of both the company and its clients. This entry‑level position is ideal for candidates eager to start a career in cybersecurity, providing hands‑on experience with monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse alerts from Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Extended Detection and Response (XDR) and log management platforms.
• Investigate security incidents, escalating complex cases to senior engineers as needed.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, track findings and assist in remediation efforts.
• Assist in deploying and managing firewalls, EDR software, intrusion prevention systems and other security tools.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of security controls, policies and procedures to meet industry standards.
• Prepare and present reports on security metrics, incidents and remediation status.
• Participate in security awareness training and documentation of incident response processes.
• Collaborate with Tier 2 and Tier 3 engineers to develop advanced security skills.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or candidate with a strong interest in cybersecurity.
• Basic understanding of network security concepts and threat landscape.
• Willingness to learn, follow procedures and work collaboratively.

Required skills

• Familiarity with EDR, IDS, SIEM and XDR tools.
• Knowledge of vulnerability assessment methodologies.
• Experience with firewalls and intrusion prevention systems.
• Understanding of security controls, policies and compliance requirements.
