Country Manager – South East Asia (Travel Design & Operations)

About the role

Unbound Travel Group is looking for an experienced Country Manager for South East Asia to lead the design, delivery and execution of private, tailor‑made journeys across the region. Reporting to the Managing Director, you will work closely with sales, product and operations teams in Australia and Asia, turning qualified leads into detailed, experience‑led itineraries.

Key responsibilities

• Design and cost bespoke itineraries based on client briefs from the Australia Sales Manager.
• Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of destinations, routing, logistics, travel times and seasonal factors across South East Asia.
• Liaise with DMCs, hotels, guides and local suppliers to secure availability, negotiate rates and confirm services.
• Prepare quotations, refine itineraries after client feedback, and manage bookings, confirmations and reservations.
• Oversee pre‑departure planning, including documentation and logistics checks.
• Act as the primary operational contact during trips, ensuring smooth delivery and resolving issues.
• Monitor service quality, collect client feedback and maintain high standards.
• Identify new routes, experiences and accommodation options for product development.
• Provide on‑ground insights for marketing content and participate in reconnaissance trips as needed.

Required profile

• Minimum 4 years of experience in travel design or tourism operations.
• Strong working knowledge of South East Asia travel logistics across multiple countries (Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines).
• Proven ability to create commercially viable, experience‑focused itineraries.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills with local suppliers.
